Description

Six wines. Four major wine regions. One very French Paradox style.

This is a mixed case that brings together six of the kinds of reds we love to drink and share at The French Paradox: full-bodied, generous wines with layers of flavour, soft tannins and plenty of character — without ever becoming heavy or overwhelming.

The beauty of this selection is the diversity of its origins. Bordeaux, the Rhône, South-West and the Languedoc all have their own traditions, grape varieties and terroirs, yet these six wines share a common thread: quality, balance and a beautiful depth of flavour.

Inside the case:

Domaine de Beyssac – Côtes du Marmandais “Essentiel” 2017
A mature South-West red with plenty of depth and savoury complexity. The 2017 vintage brings an extra layer of bottle-aged character, making this a particularly interesting wine to discover alongside the younger bottles in the case.

Château Lamartine – Cahors “Cuvée Particulière” 2022
A characterful expression of Cahors and its famous Malbec. Dark-fruited, structured and generous, with the intensity of the South-West balanced by a supple, inviting texture.

Château Mondorion – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2022
A classic Right Bank Bordeaux, bringing ripe dark fruit, elegance and fine-grained tannins. Generous and polished, with the depth and finesse expected from a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Domaine Les Creisses – Pays de l’Hérault 2024
One of those wines that perfectly captures the generous personality of the Languedoc. Rich, expressive and layered, with ripe fruit, spice and Mediterranean warmth balanced by freshness.

Château de Jonquières – Terrasses du Larzac “La Baronnie” 2023
A beautifully elegant Languedoc red, combining Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Carignan. The wine brings red and dark fruit, gentle spice and finely sculpted tannins, with a lovely sense of length and balance.

Domaine Saint Pierre – Vacqueyras 2023
A Rhône classic with plenty of character and generosity. Full of ripe fruit, spice and southern Rhône warmth, while retaining the freshness and elegance that make a great Vacqueyras so enjoyable.

Together, these six bottles create a tour of some of France’s most exciting regions for rich, characterful reds. You can taste the differences between Bordeaux, the Rhône, the Languedoc and the South-West, while discovering the common qualities that brought them together in the first place.

This is very much our style at The French Paradox: wines with depth but not weight, richness without heaviness, and tannins that feel polished and inviting rather than aggressive.

A case to open over long dinners, generous meals and good conversations — or simply to discover what happens when six very different French wines share the same philosophy.
