Mas de Boislauzon is a long-established family estate in the southern Rhône, near Orange, today run by the Chaussy family across six generations of growers. The domaine is known for its organic vineyard practices and for producing Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines that combine the natural generosity of the appellation with precision, freshness and a strong sense of terroir.
Quet is one of the estate’s special cuvées, produced only in the finest vintages. Its name comes from the historic Boislauzon lieu-dit, a designation that can be found on local maps dating back more than two centuries. The wine is made predominantly from very old Grenache vines, often approaching or exceeding 80 to 100 years of age, complemented by Mourvèdre. These low-yielding old vines provide the concentration, depth and complexity that define the cuvée.
The 2019 vintage delivers the full character of Quet: black raspberry, cassis and blueberry, alongside Provençal herbs, spice, leather and subtle smoky notes. The palate is full-bodied and richly textured, with firm but well-integrated tannins and an underlying freshness that keeps the wine balanced. It is a wine with considerable ageing potential, capable of becoming increasingly complex and savoury with time in bottle.
The wine is aged in large oak vessels, including foudres and demi-muids, allowing the wine to develop texture and aromatic complexity while preserving the purity of its fruit and the character of the old vines.
