Based in Écueil, in the Montagne de Reims, Lacourte-Godbillon is a grower Champagne estate run by Géraldine Lacourte and Richard Desvignes. The domaine works exclusively with Premier Cru vineyards, placing a strong emphasis on careful vineyard work and expressing the individual character of its parcels.
Mont Âme – Migerats 2016 is an exceptionally distinctive cuvée, made entirely from Pinot Noir and sourced from two historic parcels. The chalk-dominant soils of Mont Âme bring freshness and mineral tension, while Migerats, with its more clay-rich soils, contributes depth and structure. The two parcels come together to create a Champagne that combines power with remarkable precision.
The wine is vinified in oak barrels and then aged for more than six years on its lees. Released as a Brut Nature with zero dosage, it is an uncompromising expression of the fruit, terroir and vintage. Production is extremely limited, with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced, making this three-bottle presentation particularly special.
The 2016 reveals layers of ripe apple, pear and citrus, alongside toasted almond, brioche and subtle spice. On the palate, it is structured yet elegant, with a fine mousse, chalky minerality and a saline freshness that carries through to a long, persistent finish. It is a Champagne with enough depth and complexity to work beautifully at the table, but with the precision to reward slow, contemplative drinking.
The three bottles are presented together in a beautiful wooden box, giving the collection an elegant and substantial presentation.
