When a winemaker’s personality is captured in a bottle.

Some Champagnes seek elegance above all else.

Others charm with softness or delicacy.

And then there are Champagnes , like Arrakis by Maison Arnaud Moreau, that immediately announce who they are.

Bold, uncompromising and full of personality, it is a wine that reflects the man behind it: Arnaud Moreau, one of the most talented and passionate winemakers we have had the pleasure of meeting.

A Champagne that tells a story

The name Arrakis may sound unusual in Champagne.

Science-fiction enthusiasts will immediately recognise it as the legendary desert planet from Dune. Arnaud Moreau, himself a fan of the genre, chose a dragon as the emblem of this cuvée, giving it an identity unlike any other in Champagne.

It is a reminder that tradition and personality can happily coexist.

Behind the playful reference lies a deeply serious wine, crafted with precision and conviction.

Grand Cru Bouzy at its finest

Arrakis is produced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in Bouzy, one of Champagne’s seventeen Grand Cru villages.

Located on the southern slopes of the Montagne de Reims, Bouzy has built its reputation on producing exceptional Pinot Noir, combining richness, depth and remarkable ageing potential.

For this cuvée, Arnaud Moreau blends 70% Pinot Noir with 30% Chardonnay, bringing together the power of Bouzy’s famous red grape with the freshness and elegance of Chardonnay.

The result is unmistakably Grand Cru Champagne.

What does Brut Nature mean?

Unlike many Champagnes, Arrakis is bottled as Brut Nature.

After disgorgement, no dosage is added. In other words, there is no extra sugar to soften or modify the wine’s natural expression.

This style demands exceptional fruit, because there is nowhere to hide.

Every detail of the vineyard, every decision in the cellar and every nuance of the vintage remains visible in the finished wine.

When done well, Brut Nature produces some of the purest and most expressive Champagnes imaginable.

Arrakis is a perfect example.

A Champagne with presence

This is not a shy Champagne.

The nose combines ripe orchard fruit, citrus, toasted notes and delicate hints of brioche, while the palate is generous, structured and wonderfully vinous.

The Pinot Noir provides body and depth, while the Chardonnay brings freshness and lift. The absence of dosage allows the wine’s mineral backbone and long, savoury finish to shine through.

It is a Champagne with real character—bold without being overpowering, rich without losing its freshness.

Like its creator, it leaves a lasting impression.

Bottle or magnum?

We are fortunate to offer Arrakis both in the classic bottle and in magnum.

While every bottle is exceptional, magnums have long been prized in Champagne for the way they age. The larger format allows the wine to evolve more slowly and gracefully, often developing even greater complexity over time.

They also have an undeniable presence at the table.

Whether shared among friends or opened for a special celebration, few bottles create quite the same sense of occasion as a magnum of Grand Cru Champagne.

Why we love it at The French Paradox

Some wines are technically excellent.

Others have soul.

Arrakis is one of those rare Champagnes that combines both.

It reflects Arnaud Moreau’s creativity, his confidence and his refusal to make anonymous wines. It is unmistakably Bouzy, unmistakably Grand Cru, and unmistakably his own.

For us, it is more than just another Champagne.

It is a bottle with personality—and one we are always delighted to share.
