Description

“La Pierre Plantée” is a generous and expressive red wine from Domaine Les Eminades, produced in the Saint-Chinian appellation. Founded in 2002 by Patricia and Luc Bettoni, the estate has become a reference in the Languedoc for its organic and biodynamic farming (certified by Ecocert and Biodyvin) and its commitment to crafting wines that balance southern warmth with freshness and precision.

The wine comes from vineyards planted on rolled pebble soils (“galets roulés”) at an average altitude of 200 metres. This terroir promotes good drainage and heat retention, allowing for optimal ripening while preserving balance. The blend is composed of 50% Grenache, 25% Cinsault and 25% Syrah, combining fruitiness, finesse and structure. Vineyard work is meticulous, with no herbicides, traditional pruning methods (gobelet and cordon de Royat), and manual harvesting in small crates with careful sorting. Yields are kept moderate at around 35 hl/ha.

Vinification follows a traditional approach using indigenous yeasts. The grapes are around 70% destemmed, and gentle extraction is carried out through pump-overs. The wine is then aged for 10 months on its lees in concrete tanks, preserving purity of fruit while adding texture and complexity. Annual production is approximately 23,000 bottles.

In the glass, “La Pierre Plantée” reveals inviting aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, layered with hints of pepper, dried herbs and a subtle earthy touch. On the palate, it is supple and juicy, with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a smooth, balanced structure. The finish is clean and gently spicy, making it highly approachable.

Best served around 17°C, this wine is ideal with grilled meats, charcuterie, Mediterranean dishes or simple, flavourful cuisine. With a drinking window of 3 to 5 years, it captures the essence of Saint-Chinian in a style that is both authentic and immediately enjoyable.
