Description

Four wines. One fascinating corner of France.

This four-bottle case takes you into the South-West of France, bringing together two wines from the Côtes du Marmandais and two Cahors from Château Lamartine. The wines share a sense of generosity and character, but each offers a different expression of this diverse and often overlooked part of the country.

The Côtes du Marmandais

Domaine de Beyssac – “Iniciau” 2018
A biodynamic red built around Abouriou, alongside Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Juicy and generous, with dark cherry, blackberry, gentle spice and silky tannins, it offers a wonderfully approachable introduction to the distinctive wines of Marmandais.

Domaine de Beyssac – “Essentiel” 2017
A deeper and more layered expression from the same biodynamic estate. Ripe red and black fruit, cocoa, spice and subtle oak come together around a silky tannic structure, with the freshness that keeps the wine balanced and lively.

Cahors

Domaine Lamartine – “Tandem” 2024
A fresh, modern take on Cahors and 100% Malbec. Dark cherry and blackberry meet a gentle menthol freshness, with fine tannins and a juicy, energetic palate. A lighter, fruit-driven side of Malbec from its historic home.

Château Lamartine – Cuvée Particulière 2022
The more powerful expression of the two Cahors, with predominantly Malbec supported by Tannat. Deep black fruit, violet, liquorice and spice lead into a structured, concentrated palate with polished tannins and plenty of depth.

Together, these four wines offer a fascinating introduction to the South-West: from the distinctive character of Abouriou to the dark, expressive Malbec of Cahors, moving from fresh and juicy to rich and structured. Four bottles, two appellations, and a wonderful snapshot of a region with plenty of personality.
