Description
This Nuits-Saint-Georges 2023 comes from Domaine Michel Noëllat, a historic family estate based in Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. The domaine is known for its precise, terroir-driven Pinot Noirs, crafted with care to highlight the nuance and identity of each appellation.
Nuits-Saint-Georges is one of the most emblematic villages of the Côte de Nuits, producing structured and characterful reds. The 2023 vintage reflects a balanced growing season, delivering wines with both ripe fruit expression and fine freshness. In the glass, this cuvée typically reveals Pinot Noir at its most classic and articulate.
The nose opens on aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry and blackcurrant, followed by hints of violet, subtle spice and a touch of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is both supple and structured, with fine-grained tannins, a juicy core of red fruit and a well-defined mineral backbone. The texture is elegant, with just enough grip to promise graceful ageing.
This wine is an excellent match for roasted poultry, duck, mushroom-based dishes or lightly gamey meats. It can be enjoyed in its youth for its fruit purity, or cellared for several years to reveal greater depth and complexity.
