Description
“II” 2015 is the second wine of Château Saint-Pierre, produced by the Pradel de Lavaux family, who oversee several Bordeaux estates with a focus on balance, tradition and accessibility. This cuvée is designed as a more approachable expression of the estate’s style, while still reflecting the identity of its Bordeaux terroir.
The 2015 vintage is widely regarded as one of Bordeaux’s excellent years, marked by ideal ripening conditions that produced wines with both generosity and structure. Now approaching maturity, this wine shows the graceful evolution typical of fine Bordeaux from a great vintage.
In the glass, it displays a garnet-ruby colour with slight brick reflections, indicating its evolution. The nose is open and refined, offering aromas of ripe black cherry, plum and dried blackberry, layered with developed notes of cedar, tobacco, soft spice and a touch of earthiness.
On the palate, the wine is smooth and well-integrated, with softened tannins and a rounded, elegant texture. The fruit has evolved into a more complex profile, supported by gentle tertiary aromas and a balanced, harmonious structure. The finish is supple, savoury and persistent, with a pleasant sense of maturity and finesse.
“II” 2015 is a ready-to-drink Bordeaux that pairs beautifully with roast meats, duck, mushroom dishes, braised lamb or mature cheeses. It offers a classic expression of Right Bank style in its fully developed phase, combining charm, softness and complexity.
