Description
Château La Renaissance 2023 is a distinguished Pomerol from the Pradel de Lavaux family, owners of several carefully selected Bordeaux estates. Located on the prestigious Right Bank, Pomerol is one of Bordeaux’s most sought-after appellations, celebrated for its velvety Merlot-based wines, elegance and remarkable ability to age gracefully.
The estate benefits from an exceptional terroir where sandy soils, clay and pure gravel alternate, creating ideal conditions for producing wines of depth and finesse. The vineyard covers 6 hectares, with vines averaging 30 years old. The blend is composed of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, combining the richness and generosity of Merlot with the freshness, structure and aromatic complexity of Cabernet Franc.
The grapes are harvested manually with great care, and fermentation takes place in concrete tanks before the wine is aged for 18 months in barrels. This traditional approach allows the wine to develop complexity while preserving the elegance and identity of the Pomerol terroir.
In the glass, Château La Renaissance displays a deep garnet colour. The nose is refined and expressive, revealing aromas of black fruits, cassis and ripe plum, complemented by subtle vanilla notes from the ageing process. The aromatic profile is both elegant and intense, with a beautiful sense of depth.
On the palate, the wine is dense yet harmonious, with a round and supple texture. The tannins are polished, giving the wine a smooth, generous character, while the structure carries through to a long and persistent finish. Rich, warm and elegant, it perfectly reflects the classic style of Pomerol.
Best served between 16 and 18°C, Château La Renaissance pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as small game, roast lamb, grilled or roasted meats and mature cheeses. A wine with both immediate charm and the potential to develop further complexity with time.
