Description
Château Martinet 2023 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru produced by the brother and sister team of the Pradel de Lavaux family, a new generation continuing the family’s commitment to crafting authentic Bordeaux wines. Located on the prestigious Right Bank of Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion is renowned for its Merlot-driven blends, elegant textures and the ability to produce wines of both generosity and refinement.
The estate’s vineyards benefit from the unique terroirs of Saint-Émilion, where clay and limestone soils provide the ideal conditions for slow, balanced ripening. The blend is built around the traditional Bordeaux varieties, with Merlot bringing roundness and rich fruit, complemented by Cabernet Franc for structure, freshness and aromatic complexity.
The 2023 vintage reveals a deep ruby colour with vibrant reflections. The nose is expressive and elegant, opening with aromas of ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry, followed by subtle notes of violet, spice and gentle toasted nuances.
On the palate, Château Martinet shows a beautiful balance between richness and finesse. The texture is smooth and polished, with well-integrated tannins, a fresh backbone and a long finish marked by dark fruit, spice and mineral complexity. It has the generosity expected from Saint-Émilion while maintaining a refined and elegant profile.
This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is a wonderful partner for classic Bordeaux pairings such as roast beef, lamb, duck, mushroom dishes or aged cheeses. Enjoyable now with some aeration, it also has the structure to develop beautifully over the coming years.
