Description
Three whites. Three reds. Six very different expressions of France.
This mixed case is designed for those who want a little bit of everything. We have selected three whites and three reds from some of France’s most fascinating wine regions, creating a case that moves from the cool, mineral vineyards of Burgundy and the Loire to the warmer terroirs of the Rhône and the Languedoc, with Bordeaux and Burgundy adding their own unmistakable personalities.
What connects these six wines is not a grape variety or a single style, but rather the qualities we look for at The French Paradox: character, balance, complexity and a strong sense of terroir.
The whites
Baudouin Millet – Chablis “Intensément” 2024
A fresh and mineral Chardonnay from Chablis, with the characteristic precision and energy of northern Burgundy. Bright, elegant and beautifully focused, it is a perfect example of why Chablis remains one of France’s great white wine appellations.
Domaine d’Archimbaud – Languedoc Mont-Baudile “Les IV Pierre” 2025
A very different expression of French white wine, coming from the warmer landscapes of the Languedoc. Generous and layered, it brings Mediterranean character while retaining the freshness and balance that make it so enjoyable.
Domaine Fouassier – Sancerre “Le Clos de Bannon” 2023
From the Loire Valley, this is Sauvignon Blanc with considerably more depth and complexity than the simple, fresh style often associated with Sancerre. Precise, mineral and elegant, it brings freshness and tension to the white half of the case.
The reds
Château Hourbanon – Médoc 2016
A mature Bordeaux from a superb vintage, offering the classic combination of dark fruit, structure and savoury complexity associated with the Médoc. With several years of bottle age, the tannins have softened and the wine has developed a more nuanced, elegant personality.
Mas de Boislauzon – Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2022
A powerful yet balanced Rhône red, full of ripe fruit, spice and Mediterranean warmth. Generous and layered, it brings the richness of Châteauneuf-du-Pape while retaining the freshness needed to keep the wine lively.
Château de Laborde – Gevrey-Chambertin “Vieilles Vignes” 2019
A beautiful Burgundy to complete the selection, made from old vines in one of the Côte de Nuits’ most celebrated appellations. Elegant and complex, with layers of red and dark fruit, spice and earthy character, it brings finesse and depth rather than sheer power.
Together, these six wines create a genuine tour de France in a case — from Chablis to Sancerre and the Languedoc to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and from the Médoc to the Côte de Nuits.
It’s a selection made for exploration: three whites to discover, three reds to savour, and six different ways of understanding what makes French wine so endlessly fascinating.
