Description

“Vignes de Compostelle” 2024 is a refined white wine from Château Martet, an estate located on the right bank of Bordeaux, in the Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The property, run by the de Coninck family, has built a strong reputation for producing precise, modern wines that remain true to their terroir.

This cuvée is typically a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, grown on clay-limestone soils that bring both freshness and roundness to the wine. Sauvignon Blanc provides aromatic lift and vibrant acidity, while Sémillon adds texture, softness and subtle complexity. The vineyards are carefully managed to preserve fruit purity, with a focus on balance and optimal ripeness.

The 2024 vintage opens with a lively aromatic profile, showing notes of grapefruit, lemon zest and green apple, alongside hints of white flowers and a touch of exotic fruit. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing, with a clean, linear structure balanced by a gentle roundness. The finish is bright, elegant and pleasantly persistent.

“Vignes de Compostelle” is a versatile and approachable white wine, ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, grilled fish, salads or goat’s cheese. Best served chilled, it captures a fresh and modern expression of Bordeaux whites, combining vibrancy with finesse.
