Description
Château Olivier Blanc 2022 is a beautifully composed white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, a region renowned for producing some of the most characterful dry whites in the appellation. Crafted primarily from Sauvignon Blanc with a supporting portion of Sémillon, this vintage reflects both the estate’s gravelly, mineral terroir and the brightness of a warm but balanced growing season.
The nose is expressive and lifted, opening with aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, and white peach, alongside hints of pineapple, green apple, and delicate white flowers. Subtle nuances of crushed stone and meadow herbs add an extra layer of complexity, giving the bouquet both freshness and depth.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a focused, energetic structure. The Sauvignon Blanc provides tension, acidity, and citrus-driven precision, while the Sémillon adds a gentle roundness and texture. Flavours of ripe citrus, orchard fruit, and subtle tropical notes are carried by a chalky, mineral backbone that runs through the wine, giving it clarity and length.
The finish is clean, persistent, and lightly saline, with a refreshing lift that makes the wine highly versatile at the table. Château Olivier Blanc 2022 is already very approachable but has the structure to evolve over the medium term, gaining a touch more complexity with time in bottle. It pairs excellently with seafood, grilled fish, goat’s cheese, sushi, or fresh salads. A stylish and precise Pessac-Léognan white that balances richness with refreshing tension.
